I hear a lot of reasons around the holidays why people struggle with their self care programs. One of them is traveling for the holidays. So how do we keep our self care routines, specifically movement and exercise going during travel?
So, activity on a vacation could mean you schedule a trip geared towards wellness or exercise like a retreat or skiing, but it could also mean you go to see your family and do active things.
For example, if you are going on a cruise, schedule excursions that require, hiking , biking, or paddling. Also, you can take the stairs on a cruise ship instead of the elevator:)
Maybe you are going to see your nephews or nieces, in this case instead of baking with them, how about going to a mini golf course or taking them to the playground? Maybe walk to the playground instead of driving.
Some examples of active family activities:
Walk the dog or walk with no dog!
Put up decorations
Escape room
Mini golf
Hiking, snowshoeing
Walking a fair
Play a game of football or catch in the yard
Go to the playground
Go out dancing
Bike ride
Play video games that involve movement like on the wii
Walking tours or wineries, farms, museums
